On the Levee

Harriett will appear as Queen Black in the upcoming Lincoln Center production of On the Levee, an LCT3 production at the Duke on 42nd Street.

On the Levee tells the story of two fathers and sons. A white cotton farmer and his poet son, an African-American bootblack and his son. Inspired by the Great Flood of 1927 in Greenville Mississippi, where 5000 black laborers were left stranded on a levee.
